Happy New Year! I really fell out of communication here and on youtube with my 2022 Advent Knit challenge, didn’t I? Well, here are the 3 videos that detail what I had planned, how I progressed and while I didn’t finish as per the schedule I’d set myself….it is finished and I’m happy! This first video details the plan…..and also has updates on my sock knitting. This video was my week 1 update….and then, well, things all got complicated and I disappeared until well, right now! February 17, 2023! Yes, I’ve finished the gorgeousWonderland Shawl by Chloe Thurlow! It’s such an effective design - easy intarsia blocks broken up with a horizontal line…..and finished off with vertical crochet or embroidered lines for that tartan look! I’ve already picked out my project! (Yes, I’ve got my copy already -
Quite envious! Would love to visit Charlston - and a knitting workshop at the same time. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt was an opportunity not to be missed....we were going to be in the UK and I booked !

ReplyDeleteSarah x
It was Sarah! The only disappointment was....that we didn't get a tour of the house! I was rather peeved at that personally...the gift shop was open :) but we couldn't go into the main part of the house! I guess that means I'll just have to visit again right? :)
DeleteWhat a spectacular property -- it must have been a fabulous weekend! Anne, I've lately "rediscovered" your blog (I was a long-time fan of She Ewe Knits) -- it's wonderful, thank you for sharing your stories with us all. And I have to add that I love my own Aga and highly recommend them!
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth! You have an Aga? I didn't realize we could have them here! I am very envious :)
DeleteOMGoodness. I am so very jealous! Lucky you. I live so far away and cannot get to any of these wonderful workshops. Thank you for sharing with us and look forward to lots more.
ReplyDeleteJanette - it just happened that we were going to be in the UK, I saw the workshop listed...it fit in with our visit.....and I went. The reason we were going to the UK actually fell through....so I am glad I had this to enjoy, otherwise I might have been rather annoyed :)
DeleteThe cottage looks lovely. I wish I was there! I hope you had a good time playing with the wool!
ReplyDeleteI had a great time Dawn - I'm just writing up Part II now!
DeleteI want those blue transfer platters!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you could find some if you tried Kristen! You must have quite a collection of china! Where do you put it all?
DeleteSo lucky Anne.......what a lovely place!
ReplyDeleteThanks Esther....I'll have to go back some time for the house tour! Unfortunately the house wasn't "open" and they didn't offer to let us look around :)
