Faraway Seashore A light and frothy scarf knit in alternating sections of Stocking and Reverse Stocking Stitch......inspired by the waves while on vacation at the English seaside. Scarf size:  approximately 200cm/80in in length, the "body" is approx 30cm/6inches wide (lightly stretched) and the Kidsilk Haze ruffled edge is 8cm/1.75inches Gauge: 15 sts to 10 cm Needles:  4.5mm, 100cm circular needle, or the size you need to achieve gauge Yarns: Yarn A: Rowan Finest, 2 balls shade Cool (067) Yarn B: Rowan Kidsilk Haze Stripe, shade Frost (203) (I used a half a ball leftover from stash) Using Yarn A, CO 300 sts Although there is no right or wrong side on this scarf...it is important that you identify the "right" side to make sense of the stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch sections. Stocking Stitch (SS) - the all knit side is the right side Reverse Stocking Stitch (RSS) - the all purl side is the right side ...

So we're at Charleson House, in the workshop room.... and there is LOTS of yarn! a serious amount of yarn! +RowanYarns   Big Wool! And we've got Martin Storey, yes, THE Martin Storey! right there to lead the way...... not only did I have a weekend workshop with Martin, we stayed in the same hotel! .....it's Friday night, we've finally found our hotel and settled in....it's been a long day... and we're either going into or coming out of the dining room.... the front door opens and in walks this tall man.... "Martin Storey?" I ask.. "Why yes" he says..... about now he's wondering what he has got himself into... crazy stalking knitters in the same hotel! It wasn't surprising....not many hotels in Lewes.....but it was a fun coincidence. We gave Martin lifts to and from the workshop, had meals together...yup, spent the weekend together! A great teacher, is our Martin. He went around the table to make sure everyon...

Julie at The Needle Emporium  had just posted that...the Fine Art yarn had just arrived...so I immediately jumped in the car....well, not immediately, but first thing the next morning! All 8 shades at once! I put one skein of each shade in a Phil Soak bucket and played! I kept moving them about to see all of the different shades - that Serin shade really caught my eye - but not for socks...... another shade that really caught my attention was....the subtle Chiff-Chaff! This is the Lark Scarf, knit in Chiff-Chaff! I'm planning on making this for the hubby - I think maybe knit at a slightly tighter gauge to make it more manly - what do you think? Isn't this shade fabulous!  Anyone could wear this incredible mix of neutrals. Hmmm....yes, I'll have to make this scarf for "the Hubby" :)
