Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow......

Of course, when you drive a Mini, it can be a bit daunting....... DH had dug out the end of the driveway enough for him to get out, and left a path thru the snow -- tantalizing, but too deep for poor Myrtle Mini! but what's that - he doesn't fly, he doesn't leap tall buildings, he drives a snow blower! Closer and closer he gets -- by this time I've cleaned off the car and I'm ready to run.....but I have to wait while he gets even closer! It is beautiful though, isn't it? Happy Knitting, keep safe and warm!

Bohus Wristlets - FO!

Image
Last Saturday, I attended a Bohus Workshop by Susanna Hansson - put on by the Kitchener-Wateroo Knitter's Guild , of which I am a member. In addition to a fabulous presentation on the history of Bohus knitting -- not a traditional Swedish knitting style, but more of a fashion style developed in Sweden, knit by a group of women who needed to help support their families for a 30 year period 1939-69 -- we were treated with the opportunity of knitting one of the fabulous Bohus designs, in the authentic yarns (well as authentic as one can get these days) in the form of wristlets. Here are my Bohus Blue Shimmer Wristlets -- they are stunningly beautiful, and gorgeously warm to wear! Also in attendance at this Workshop were Sally Melville, knitter extraordinaire who was the founding member of the KW Guild; Renee, aka Froggie Meanie , designer of the Cherished Pullover; Michelle of In Yarn Veritas (who brought along her Autumn Rose sleeves) - check out her blog report on the Bohus Worksho

Introducing......

Cherished, the first official "Froggie Meanie" design.......a fair isle pullover for that special grand-daughter perhaps? Knit in the round, with armhole and neckline steeks, this would be a great sweater to introduce the new fair isle knitter to the traditional techniques. Cherished is knit in Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, using Natural White throughout the background, and six delicious shades alternating throughout the design. So I think Cherished will be the February special over at She Ewe Knits......see She Ewe Knits for details.
