Following through.....
An afghan is a HUGE commitment.....time, $$$ and let's face it....emotional commitment. To get so far and be this close to finishing! Need a bit of incentive? How about a chance to win yarn and pattern books...and a subscription to Rowan Magazine?
Rowan has just announced the finished photos competition.
They made up some different categories so that you can enter your finished afghan photos and be eligible for selection for the prizes.
It's just a bit of fun.....they say....but you can win yarn! And pattern books!
So get your afghan finished, take a photo, post it.....read all about "the competition" on the KnitRowan Facebook page....or on the Rowan Yarns finished afghan thread on Ravelry.
As a Rowan Ambassador, I am not eligible to participate in the photo sharing competition.....but seeing all of the fabulous finished afghans is keeping me excited about finishing MY afghan! I am sewing my squares into strips....then will sew the strips together! My trim is coming along nicely.....I am on track for being finished by July 31.
How about you? I'd love to hear how your afghan is coming along.
When our afghans are finished....what is next in your queue? I have to admit, that I took an "afghan vacation" while in the UK.
After the visit to "The Mill" (oh yes, I haven't forgotten, my report on what happened at The Mill!) I went off on vacation with a knitting friend, and we ended up at the seaside.
Over night the wind picked up and the waves were crashing in....which gave me an idea....I just happened to have two balls of the new Rowan Finest yarn with me....and my friend donated a part ball of Kidsilk Haze Stripe....and I cast on a new project while I was over there....more on this later!
Did I show you this photo of Lackie "helping" to arrange my squares?
Lucky he is so darned cute.....
There.....they look much better now that I've rolled all over them....right?
Happy Knitting everyone!
Anne
