- OK, I said it....Yarn Diet.
- Yup, for 2012 I am going to try going on a yarn diet......shop the stash as Cindi says.....it's not like I don't have enough in my stash to last for a while (er years).
I met Cindy on the Scotland, England Wool Trip in September - she lives in Peterborough and she writes a blog called Purl One.My kind of knitter Cindi is!
She looks so happy here - photo
taken at Beckside Yarns.- She also publishes an on-line magazine called "Purl Peterborough" which celebrates the diversity of our knitting community in the Peterborough area. Although the focus is on Peterborough, Cindi branches out - for example the current edition of Purl Peterborough has a great article on Iceland right now - how it is surviving not only the world-wide financial crisis, but it's own crisis with their volcanos erupting. It is a great read and led me to a new blog which I'd like to follow.
It's the blog of Harpa Jónsdóttir
I cut and paste her name to get the proper accents. She is a multi-crafter so her blog is very diverse. My taste is blogs is always changing - I add and delete from my bloglines regularly. How about you? Do you find you follow the same blogs forever - or do you switch it up every once in a while.
This blog will be switching it up too. I have taken up water colour painting.....well, I've taken up water colour painting classes - I'm not sure how long this will last, but it is already making me look at my yarn shades differently. Interesting how one interest compliments the other. More on this later.

On a yarn diet too.. should we start a support group? lol. I put my whole stash into rav, that way I know what I have. When I go onto ravelry I make sure I take a moment and stare at my stash to reinforce the fact that I really dont need any more yarn until I have got through most of the bins sitting in my bedroom. I have however allowed myself 1 little indulgence of some Exelanta yarn when my Stitch in time 2 book arrives :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck! and stay focused! Vall
