New Project
Thank you for your comments on Anastasiya - it was a great project - so totally out of my normal style that I loved it - and I LOVE wearing it!
So Pru was asking what my next project will be......well, I am knitting Rambler in Cocoon from Rowan 48 for my next Rowan group project.....I'm doing the sleeves first to get the boring bits over - and intend to knit the body in the round up until the underarms - then back and forth. I'm doing it in the colourway as show in Rowan 48.
Also, in 2011 I intend to do a couple of "I've always wanted to knit...." projects. The first is......drum roll here......
LINDISFARNE from Celtic Collection
and I'm doing it as a KAL with my friend Renée (aka Froggie Meanie on Ravelry) and Renée will be popping in to Shades of Shetland occasionally to post updates on her progress.....and we will be meeting regularly to compare notes....so there will be side by side photos in the future too!
So here's the set up -- back in the days of She Ewe Knits, I took my trusty book of Rowan shade cards and converted the original Rowan yarn shades used in Lindisfarne in the Celtic Collection. although I was confident in this translation to Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, I had never actually swatched the colourway. The photos in the book are quite a bit off - the best photo to represent the shades is the small photo in the bottom left corner of page 33.
With my colouring, I need to warm this up a bit - and I took inspiration from the 2-page highly dramatic photo of this sweater......well, it's a photo of the landscape with the model and her sweater appearing in it LOL!!!
So here we go......one design, two knitters, two colourways.....
