Back to the regularly scheduled programming.....

Happy New Year. The festivities are over, and it's time to get back to our knitting.
My only resolutions this year are to keep to my knitting (ie. don't get distracted -- do what you really want to do) and to blog fairly regularly, but not feel that I have to blog about just anything.

Carolyn and I joined the Oakville Association of Knitters and Crocheters in November. We were interested in joining a group that was closer to home (only a 15 minute drive away) where we could have a night out to knit. We were very impressed with the organization of this relatively new knitting group, and at their inventive program.

Here's an example of the kind of things they do. There is going to be an art show in Oakville in February. The Oakville Knitters and Crocheters were invited to do a display. I'm not sure who in the group came up with this idea -- a large number of.....

basic black stretchy gloves were bought....and knitters were invited to fancy them up a bit, in a knitterly fashion of course!

So, I knit a bit of fair isle....

which I attached to the glove

to make a second layer over the back and palm of the hand.

I had to do the pair (otherwise the poor lonely glove would only have been suitable for Michael Jackson wannabes........)
Thank goodness they are finished and ready for the meeting next Tuesday!

In the meantime, Daisy is guarding them!

Happy Knitting - hope 2007 gives you as much time to knit as you want!

Now, I'd be surprised if you had done anything but a Fair Isle addition!

  4. Hi Anne- Oooh0 those gloves match Daisy's Fair Isle coat. You and her can be co-ordinated when you go out for a walk.
    Co-incidence? I think not!

  5. Oh what a great idea - thanks for sharing :)
I don't like to knit gloves (to many fingers) but now I know what to do.
