Movie Review Monday

Although I haven't been knitting these last couple of weeks...........

I have been watching movies in my exhausted new puppy state....sometimes it takes me a couple of tries to get thru the movie.....but not because it isn't a good movie....it's just that I fall to sleep in the middle of it!

So last week I watched ...

STAR TREK - 5 Knitting Needles out of 5

Although some people might not like the new twist on this "old" favourite....I LOVED IT! Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban do a great job representing Kirk, Spock and Bones........can't wait to the next one which has been announced and is expected to be released in 2011

TWILIGHT - 3 Knitting Needles out of 5

Although not a Twilight die hard.....I have read the books.....and I wanted to see how they translated to the screen -- good job I think. Entertaining.....but being based on a book that we've all read....well, we know how it comes out right? Made me pick up "The Haunted Airman" because Robert Pattison was in it.....see below.

NIGHT TRAIN - 4 Knitting Needles out of 5

Starring Danny Glover, Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski - to sum it up - greed always has a price! Interesting movie!

THE HAUNTED AIRMAN - 5 Knitting Needles out of 5

Starring Robert Pattison (of Twilight and Harry Potter fame), Julian Sands (you know he is going to be a baddie) and Rachael Stirling (the only thing I've seen her in is the latest "Murder at the Vicarage").........interesting movie based on the book "The Haunting of Toby Jugg" by Dennis Wheatley -- will have to look up his books. One thing is for certain.....Robert Pattison CAN ACT!!!

Disclaimer: Of course, these ratings are highly subjective to my own peculiar sense of entertainment - you might have an entirely different point of view LOL!

Happy Movie Watching!

  1. Oooh, I have to get Star Trek, I'm so mad I missed it in the theater - just for the sound/big screen effects.

    I like your rating system!

  2. Thanks for the reviews. Now, off to put these on my Netflix queue. Seems we both have a similar taste in movies...love the needles as your rating markers.
