Life LackaDaisiCal

Well, it seems that most of the Kaffe Klatch got caught up in Merriment during the holidays.   Tsk tsk I say :) One of us was very busy....and it wasn't me! First Ros teased me with a photo of her afghan all sewn up! (Just so you get an idea of how large this is, that is a Queen size bed!) The she sent me this photo - with a crochet edging applied. Almost done, but not quite. It has been decided that another round of crochet is required! Now I have to also explain that while all this afghan knitting was going on... Franziska , Rowan Magazine 56 by Galina Carroll in Rowan's Felted Tweed DK Yes, Ros actually finished this beauty!  Another huge amount of stranded knitting!  (She graciously allowed me to share this photo..... as long as I removed her head :) ) I MUST find out what Darlene and Ann (the other Kaffe Klatch members) have been up to. Me? You want to know what I have been doing? Kaffe Afghan squares at the top, Emley ...

Even for homebodies like us!  We have been out to dinner, to a concert, got together with family, dinner with friends in the Big TO (again) and it is only December 15! While all this was going on....there was a lot of stuff going on here at LifeLDC! This is (was) our laundry room....it's on the main floor (in the LifeLDC Bungalow) and hubby loves the washer/dryer being on these raised pedestals.... me, not so much.  I liked to use the top of the appliances to groom the dogs. This may not sound like a big thing, but with two Westies, easy grooming is essential. For over a year now, I have been sending them to be groomed...never entirely happy with the results....yes they look cute....but we have had a few issues and I'd rather groom them myself. who would have thought that renovating one small room.... Would spread to almost every corner of our small house! (yes, that is a toilet at the end of the hall!) Of course, having no laundry facilities at home ...

Ooohhh, the squares are piling up and I AM LOVING the KAFFE KAL! How about you? The Kaffe Klatch meeting this week was fun....we got together for virtual Afternoon Tea.   Ros was the hostess as she couldn't leave her house guest home alone. Yes, that's Pickles' foot...she was holding the square cheat sheet that Ros made up for her squares! Isn't that ADORABLE! Once you have knit the squares following the pattern a couple of times....all you need are these handy cheater sheets. What, you want a cheat sheet too?  Well, lucky for you, Sarah, one of the Rowan Ambassadors created a cheat sheet for herself - she is doing the Brown Colourway and you can find it here on her blog, Nottingham Knitter !   Then Anja (another RA) modified the cheat sheet for each of the other colour ways too! Get them at the I Am Snow Fox blog! Week 3 - Brown Colourway Even with her house guest, Ros has finished her Week 3 squares and she was wondering if 4 of each woul...

OK....settle down knitters....this is a long knit-along and you don't want to burn yourselves out! There are a few things that you have to know - here is a check list for you! Are you a Row@n Member - if not, join here . You MUST be a Row@n Member to be able to download the weekly clues! Got your yarn?  If not....here is the shopping list for the 4 different colour ways! The Week 1 Clue is UP!   BEFORE YOU CAST ON!!! Please read the Tip Sheet !  Rowan has provided TWO versions of each square - a M1 increase or an Increase version.  What is the difference you might ask?  Read the Tip Sheet and decide which version you prefer! Rowan has done videos for all of the techniques that you need to be able to knit these squares! There is a Kaffe KAL Playlist which shows them all! It helps if you watch these videos on a bigger screen - they are ok on my iPad, but great on my Mac screen! (It is worth going to your computer to watch them!) I would ...
