Rowan "Selects"

Indie dyers are known for their special edition shades or bases. Fans will queue up for hours for that one skein of Rhinebeck colourway....or subscribe to yarn clubs to get their hands on luxurious bases.....all limited editions!

Rowan is bringing the limited edition concept to their retailers and knitters with the Rowan "Selects" program.

"Selects" will be yarns available in limited quantities....once the production is gone......it's gone!

These yarns will be supported by a collection of patterns designed specifically for each Select yarn. These collections will be available free with purchase at your yarn retailer! I believe that there might also be additional free patterns available on the Rowan web site.

Right now, I only see one retailer offering their Select yarns on a pre-order basis! This is in the UK. Here in Canada (and North America) I haven't seen any Selects offered yet.

So if any of these yarns interest you....do your sleuthing, and if you find some, don't hesitate!

First Up!

ROWAN CASHMERE!

It's a DK weight yarn, 95% Cashmere and 5% Wool
There are 72m/82yds per 25 g ball
Recommended tension is 20 sts and 28 rows per 10cm
Recommended Needle size - 4.5mm (US 7)

As this is a super wash yarn, the care instructions are mild machine wash at maximum 30 degrees C, dry flat

Martin Storey was tasked with the designs for this luxurious yarn!

Who more worthy of Cashmere than that special little someone in your life (sized for babies up to 18 months)

and then, who else more worthy than the knitter her (or him) self.....or for special gifts for your fabulous friends!

Let me know if your LYS is offering the Rowan Select yarns! I am willing to travel to see this Cashmere in person! (As a Rowan Ambassador, I usually receive a sample ball of new yarns....but the Cashmere and the next Select yarn are so limited in supply, the Ambassadors didn't even get a sample ball! So I am intrigued as my recent experience with Cashmere made me a Lover of this truly luxurious fibre!)

Happy Knitting,

x Anne

(with Lackie and Daisy at her feet, in the cool of the basement, because it's ANOTHER stiflingly hot day here in Southern Ontario! If you're in the middle of a heat wave, stay cool! and if you're not, I envy you!)
