My Mystery Afghan is finished - YEAH!

My last blog post about the Rowan Ambassador visit to the Mill is delayed, due to my need to CELEBRATE the completion of my +RowanYarns  Pure Wool Worsted Mystery Afghan!

Pictures are worth a thousand words right?

even in Summer,
mornings are cool on the deck
and a lovely afghan comes in handy

Lackie loves mornings on the deck

it didn't take him long to join me!
breakfast, and a bit of reading!

after breakfast, "The Afghan"
decided to check out the yarn...er YARD!

I love the way this all went together - look at that beautiful seam!

and the cable trim - gorgeous!

I was away for two weeks...and since I have been home, I haven't spent any time weeding...
I've been too busy knitting....no, hubby was ill while I was away (he missed me)
and needed a bit of TLC when I got home! He is much better now thanks!
so please excuse the "au naturel" state of my yard!

We had these railings installed last year....
I told the hubby that concrete stairs were dangerous...
and our railing needed replaced...
it makes a lovely spot for afghan photos...
don't you think?

more steps and railing to the front door!

I think this is my favourite shot....

These photos were taken BEFORE the final wash and block....because I was determined to finish this by July 31.  I snipped off the last end at 10:45 pm last night!

This KAL was a major undertaking, even for someone like me who KNIT'S A LOT!

I congratulation ALL of you who took part in the Rowan Yarns Pure Wool Worsted Mystery KAL.

If you have finished yours - STANDING OVATION! I hope you entered Rowan's Photo Competition on Facebook and on Ravelry!

If you are still working on it - CARRY ON AND FINISH! IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

Just hearing about the Rowan Afghan KAL?  Although the KAL itself is over....the pattern is still available on the Rowan web site here!

I am amazed that I actually knit this gorgeous afghan!  It is soft and warm...and I know it will be the favourite go to blanket when we cuddle up on the couch!

Thank you +RowanYarns for this your FIRST KAL, hopefully not the last....please!

Thank you Martin Storey for the great design!

Now....what is next on my needles....decisions, decisions!

Any suggestions?

Happy Knitting,

Anne

and a special thank you...
I couldn't have done it
without you Lackie!

  3. Hooray! It looks fantastic, well done. I've set Sept 1st as my own deadline. The trim is taking forever as is the seaming because I'm crocheting around each square first. Still, it's coming along. Won't it feel great to cast on something new?
