MR - A Sound of Thunder

Saturday Night at the Movies.......

"A Sound of Thunder", released in March of 2006, yet it was buried in the "Action" section, not where the recent releases are displayed -- my first warning that maybe this wasn't the greatest of movies LOL!

Here's the synopsis from Blockbuster....

In 2055, the elite travel agency, Time Safari Inc. has cornered the lucrative time-traveling market. There are only three essential rules: Don’t change anything in the past; don’t leave anything behind; and most important, don’t bring anything back. The slightest alteration might impact the existing course of evolution in ways that no one can imagine. Time Safari Inc. is the hottest ticket in town… until the unthinkable happens. Someone breaks the rules. Threatened on all sides and fast running out of time, Ryer and Rand must find a way to go back and correct whatever catastrophic error was made, to save themselves and the human race from certain extinction.

Ben Kingsley plays the "anything for a buck" leader of the travel agency (who had turned off the biofilter to save power and therefore money), while Edward Burns is the scientist that leads the time-travel big game hunting trips -- because he wants to use this job as a means to repopulate the earth with animals (we've made them all extinct by 2055). I didn't recognize anyone else in the cast -- except maybe the chameleon like animal that humans eventually reverted to -- you have to watch the movie to get what I'm talking about -- better yet, don't bother!

Erin Update --

I'm almost to the underarms, where I'll have to decide on whether or not I'm going to make shaped armholes, and if so, how much shaping. So before I get to that point, I'm going to measure a fair isle cardigan that I bought while in Shetland in 2003 -- I like the fit and hope to replicate it with this sweater. Do I want full dropped shoulder armholes like the pattern calls for? or do I want it to be more fitted? Then I'll have to work it all out on a schematic.

Every once in a while I come across a blogger saying something like "it's a big long, I would have preferred it to be one motif shorter" or something similar -- and I've discovered that not everyone figures all of this out beforehand! Well, one of my FI bugaboos is that I demand that the shoulder seam be either a half of a repeat joined together to make one full repeat at the shoulder (with the seam down the middle), or a full repeat of the motif butted up against each other. I don't like partial repeats that when put together are more or less than the whole. Just one of my pet peeves. I'll figure this out for Erin and show you how I do it!
